What is this blog all about?

This is the blog of Tom Rose, basically it is just a way of letting everyone know what he is up to in the world of magic. All the kids these days seem to be writing 'blogs' so here it is.... Watch out for the much requested 'service station review' feature which pops up from time to time and news of Tom's international performances and for celebrities/VIPs.

Theatre land Calls…

No, not for my dazzling skills but for a night out. I thought it had been too long since I went out and saw some live entertainment so I booked some tickets to go and see Rob Brydon Live at the Apollo Theatre in London. Most of you will have seen Rob Brydon in Gavin and Stacey which is a great show; it actually once included a very mocking sketch with a magician (episode 4 of the first series - the magician shown is actually my good pal Brendan Patricks very much not playing himself). The live show is great fun and even after nearly 2 hours of Brydon he leaves you wanting more. Thoroughly recommended for anyone who has even a passing taste for Gavin and Stacey.

Regents Park Outdoor Theatre
Following Rob’s great show I thought I should really continue my cultural evenings and so went along to see some Shakespeare at the outdoor theatre in Regents Park. This is something I would probably have never got round to booing myself (my lovely sister arranged it) but I really can’t recommend it enough. It’s a great experience and the show, Much Ado About Nothing was expertly played out by the actors who received a long and well deserved standing ovation at the end of the show. The whole concept of theatre outdoors with Pimms in one hand and a rug in the other is a great and I will be certainly going back for more later in the summer.
